In our continuing effort to ensure that the high school students parked on campus can safely and efficiently depart the high school campus at the end of each school day, a revised high school student pick up system prior to and during dismissal time has been implemented.

Effective 1 March 2017, the two lanes south of the high school gym will be physically closed off by newly-installed swinging barrier arms (located just before the Junior ROTC Storage Shed) at approximately 1:00 p.m.

At approximately 1:25 p.m., the swinging barrier arm closest to the gym will be opened and parents of high schoolers only (who should be waiting in the lane closest to the gym), will be allowed to move forward and prepare to pick up their children next to the cafeteria. High school parents may proceed through the open barrier arm in the lane closest to the gym until 1:35 p.m.

At 1:35 p.m., both swinging barrier arms will be closed to all traffic until approximately 1:45 p.m. so that the high-school student drivers can depart campus or relocate their vehicles safely.

At approximately 1:45 p.m., all remaining vehicles will be allowed to move forward to their appropriate pick up locations.

As a reminder, parents waiting to pick up children, regardless of which school, are not authorized to park in a high school student’s reserved parking space, even if it is currently empty.

Thank you for your support and cooperation as we continue to upgrade our safety procedures at Oasis High School.
