Shannon Treece

Principal

Mrs. Treece began her career in Education as a teacher in 2000, and since that time, has also served as a Principal, a Director of District Support Services, and an Assistant Principal. In addition to many other appointed and elected roles, she was appointed by the Governor of Kentucky as a member of the Educational Standards Board of Directors as the representative for principals across the Commonwealth.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Studies Education from Kentucky State University, and has a Masters of Science in Vocational Education from the University of Kentucky.

Mrs. Treece has a passion for student voice, innovation in education, and personalizing learning to meet the needs of every learner. Her desire at Oasis is to ensure that the students entrusted to her care encounter personalized academic and extracurricular experiences that enhance their own learning. Her goal is to make sure every student is equipped with the skills to be successful upon graduation.

Mrs. Treece and her husband, Darrell, are also busy raising a daughter, Halle. In her free time, she enjoys serving others, running, eating ice cream, and listening to the waves on the ocean!

Erich Boerner

Dean of Students

Erich Boerner has been the Dean of Students at OHS since 2015.  Prior to assuming duties as the Dean, he taught Junior ROTC in three Lee County high schools from 2005 – 2015, including establishing the OHS JROTC Program in 2010.
 
Mr. Boerner retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 22 years of active-duty service with the United States Army . He is a native of Augusta, Georgia, and has an undergraduate degree in Business Management and a Masters of Science in Strategic Intelligence. He and his wife, Rachel, reside in Cape Coral, and are the proud parents of three grown children, a cat, and a chocolate lab - Matthew, Catherine, Caleb, Rocky and Hershey. During his military career, Mr. Boerner was assigned to a variety of stateside and overseas assignments, to include Fort Bragg, NC, the Pentagon in Washington, DC, Fort Huachuca, AZ, the Presidio of Monterey, CA, and tours of duty in Korea, Germany, Africa and Japan. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, reading, working out, traveling, and watching sports!

I have been an employee of the Lee County School System since I was a senior in high school. Prior to coming to Oasis High School, I was the Career Specialist with the Guidance Department at North Fort Myers High for 36 years. I am so excited to be at Oasis High School, the faculty is fabulous and I am enjoying getting to know the students here. I live In North Fort Myers with my husband Dave and our granddaughter, Ciera. We have a son, Rick a daughter, Tara and two other grandchildren, Reagan and Barrett. I love the outdoors, including boating, fishing, Jeeping, walking, golf, skiing, and hiking. Indoor pleasures include reading, cooking and machine embroidery.

I was raised in Fort Myers. Graduated from Fort Myers High School in 1997. Graduated from the University of Florida (Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, Concentration in Management) in 2001. Later held the rank of Captain in the United States Army, and received an Honorable Discharge in 2004. I built homes for D.R. Horton (a large tract builder) until I began my career in Law Enforcement at the Cape Coral Police Department (CCPD) in January, 2009.

I am now a S.W.A.T. Team Operator, Crisis Intervention Team Member, Less Lethal Munitions Instructor, and an A.L.I.C.E. Certification Instructor for the CCPD.

I am proud to officially say I am also now the School Resource Officer responsible for patrolling the Shark-Infested waters at Oasis High School.

Most importantly, I am a husband with two beautiful daughters.

My name is Barbie Wood and I'm the Media Specialist at Oasis High School.  I was born and raised in Monroe, Michigan.  I'm certified as both a Nursing Assistant and a Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten Teacher's Assistant.  I reside in Cape Coral, Florida with my husband Sam, and have one daughter Samantha who attended school at Oasis since 6th grade.  She is a 2015 graduate of Oasis High School and was the first basketball player from Oasis High School to receive a combined academic and athletic scholarship and she plays basketball for Ave Maria University.  

In my spare time I love to bake, read, and spend time with my family.  I love working with the students at Oasis High School and I'm very fortunate to be a part of such an outstanding team.
