ACT/SAT Students are encouraged to register for ACT on line at www.actstudent.org or for SAT on line at sat.collegeboard.org/register. Registration deadlines usually are about one month before the scheduled test date. Regular registration fees are $35.00 to $50.50 for the ACT and $50.00 for the SAT. Limited fee waivers are available to students with a demonstrated need. Due to the increased requests for fee waivers, we must limit them to one per student in order to assure that all students with a financial need are able to take an ACT or SAT test.

SAT test centers: North Fort Myers High, Cape Coral, and Fort Myers High Schools n all dates. Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Riverdale High Schools are ACT test centers for all test dates.

Now is the time when Seniors should be completing and sending college applications. Applications for most colleges and universities are available at their websites, and electronic applications through the website are preferred by most universities. The 12 state universities remain under an enrollment cap, so early applications are essential if students want their best opportunity for admission to these colleges in particular.

It also is good to alert parents and students that colleges increasingly report that they are looking at the internet, especially sites such as Facebook, to see what information this student is posting. In addition, a student’s internet address can create an important first impression. A controversial or provocative screen name or internet address may start your student’s application review off with a negative impression. We encourage you to do your best to review your Senior student’s activity on the internet.
